Jackie Barion - Newton Aycliffe, County Durham

Jackie Barion contacted Premier Living after reading articles in both The Journal and The Northern Echo about the services offered and expansion plans for the future.
Jackie was immediately drawn to our website and booked an appointment online for a Premier Living home survey and consultation session.
During Paul and Jackie's consultation session which lasted around an hour, we were able to establish a fairly solid brief and discuss design ideas that included;
• Bath/shower mixer over the bath as there was a separate shower in the ensuite for daily use
• Bath/shower screen
• Possible whirlpool (for Paul!) but this depended on overall cost
• Fitted furniture to allow storage of all those bathroom essentials that need hiding away
• Semi-recessed basin to suit the fitted furniture and a back to wall WC ideally with soft closing seat
• Monobloc basin mixer to match bath/shower mixer
• Heated towel rail
• PVC ceiling panelling with low voltage spot lights throughout to contribute to a really modern look
• An extractor fan into the existing location to keep up with building regulations
• Possible black and white colour scheme with furniture and tiles complementing each other
A full survey allowed us to establish exactly what kind of heating and water system was in place; standard of electrics; location of soil pipes and plumbing supplies; and essentially the full room dimensions.
After Jackie and Paul's consultation session we were able to create a full 3D visual design supported by working drawings for our fitters should the project go ahead. Throughout the design work we were also able to compile a detailed quote with full product break downs based around ideas that were discussed as part of the brief.
The final design included:
• Shades fitted furniture finished in Bianca white with an ebony gloss worktop.
With the dimensions of the room we were able to use a 560 width WC cabinet and 640 width vanity base unit to fit perfectly between the bath and wall
• To ensure Jackie and Paul got their soft closing seat we used the Roca Girlada back to wall pan with matching semi-recessed basin.
The Roca Girlada is a nice modern range with a smooth, slightly square finish
• The Vitra Atlas monobloc basin mixer with pop up waste and the matching Vitra Atlas bath/shower mixer were used
• To ensure the use of space was maximised in Jackie and Paul's bathroom we used the Manhattan Swift Seal folding bath screen with a white frame.
Using the folding bath screen helped prevent both tight access in and out of the bath and a feeling of ‘crowding' that a fixed glass screen may have created.
• A large 500 width by 1200 height white heated towel rail was installed to complement the fitted furniture and shower screen
• To meet building regulations we used a Vectaire Premium humidity controlled extractor fan; this option is ideal as it only comes on when moisture reaches a certain level in the room.
• PVC ceiling panelling was fitted with 6 white low voltage halogen spot lights, all IP65 rated to meet building regulations.
• To meet Paul's requests we were able to supply a Niagara by Jacuzzi Pilot crystal whirlpool without exceeding their budget
• To finish off and contribute to the black and white modern theme we used Vitra Helsinki white wall tiles with the Vitra Helsinki decorative border and Vitra Vermont black floor tile
The whole project fell well within the budget Jackie and Paul had in mind and in our second meeting they secured an installation spot with a 25% deposit.
The installation project was completed in 10 days and everyone involved; Jackie, Paul and all the fitters were extremely pleased with the finished room.
